The V-Cell 4 has additional V-Cell material allowing it to play softer, offer more feel, and have more power. Catapult springs at 3 and 9 o’clock give the V-Cell 4 easy power while the open string pattern gives great spin potential.

The V-Cell 4 also features REVA, more V-Cell Material, VTEX butt cap, Super Grommets and V-Sensor Handle for great feel. It weighs 275g / 9.7oz, has a 680cm2 / 105in2 head, 25mm beam with an extended length of 70cm / 27.6in and a 32.5cm / 1in head light balance. It has a 16x19 string pattern.

The V-Cell 4 is a racquet which bridges the gap between today’s “player” frames and oversize “game improvement” racquets. In capable hands it gives high performance control and feel while still being user friendly for those needing an easy to use, easy on the arm racquet.

Fabulous racquet

The V-Cell 4 is an excellent racquet which covers a wide range of players and player types. The standard unstrung weight of 275g makes it a lighter option for intermediate players but for more advanced players it would probably be preferable to add some weight. The normal case for adding weight is to increase power, and stability on faster incoming balls which you get when playing at a higher level. But the V-Cell 4 has great stability for a 275g racquet due to the 105 sq inch head size combined with the Volkl catapult technology, so in standard form it deals with this pretty well. This technology is at 3 and 9 o'clock on the racquet face and enhances the sweetspot and adds significant power to the racquet. In my case I added around 12g around the head and 8g in the shaft which further adds to the stability and power. I find this addition gives it great playability from all parts of the court, with topspin, slice and flat shots all in the wheelhouse. The lighter weight allows for great racquet head speed, and when combined with a spin string like Volkl V-Square, heavy topspin shots result. With this combination you can swing as hard as you like and the topspin will consistently dip inside the baseline. Serving and volleying is also very good with this model, giving the volleys good control and power without having to force them. It also comes with Volkl's shock absorbtion technology in the handle. There are now many players in my association using this model, and in particular there are a number of players in the 40-60 year old range who have had arm issues which have now disappeared due to the shock absorbing technology. I personally hit hundreds of balls just about every day and have no arm issues. I have many different Volkl, Wilson and Babolat racquets available to use, but the V-Cell 4 is my pick for competition use because it does everything well. Overall a great racquet.
